Abstract

On January 2016 an inflation of 0.36 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 130.23

 Inflation occurs because of the increase in the index in six (6) groups of expenditure and a decrease in the index at 1 (one) expenditure groups. Increased expenditure groups namely foodstuffs index 1.52 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 1.09 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.54 percent; clothing group 0.30 percent; health group 0.25 percent; education, recreation and sport 0.05 percent.

While groups of expenditure index declines that tranpor, communications and financial services by -1.95 percent.

 calendar year inflation rate in January 2016 by 0.36 per cent and the inflation rate year-on-year (January 2016 to January 2015) of 5.30 percent.
